We went to see Abigail tonight. We got to hold her for almost 2 hours. That was awesome. Typically we only get to hold her for about half an hour before she starts to de-sat.
We are still waiting for the results of the head scan.
They decided to take out her pick line, which was supplying her IV fluids. As long as she stays off of her IV and continues to feed then she is eligible to go down to the graduate nursery.
They are still concerned about her lungs. Although she has been blessed with improvements with her breathing she is still breathing faster than they would like her to.
They gave her a diuretic drug called Lasix because she has been retaining water and they are not exactly sure why.
We talked to one of the doctors and he said that it would be no problem for Cheryl to get a doctor's note saying that she has to stay home with Abigail to take care of her. He said it was in Abigail's best interest for it to happen that way. There would be too many risks having her stay with other kids for at least the first six months that she is home. He also told us to really limit exposure even with family and friends. That is tough because we want everyone to be able to see her and that everyone else is going to want to see her and hold her. We will get more info from the doctor as to who can be around her and who might be a risk for her. He told us that her immune system is going to be very under-developed and that it will be a challenge to keep her safe from germs and viruses.
Thank you for all of your prayers, support and love. Please pray for her lungs to get stronger and to develop more healthy tissue, that the head scan comes back with good news that the grade 2 bleed is being absorbed and is getting smaller and anything that the Holy Spirit puts on your heart and mind.
Thank you all so very much.
In Christ with all of our love
Scott, Cheryl and Abigail
ps: We will try and put some new pictures up.

we are so grateful for abigail's continued progress! how wonderful that you got to hold her for 2 hours!
i had read that once preemies come home, you can't allow them to be around lots of people, and it's so important to protect them from germs because their immune systems are so delicate.
i pray that this would not be difficult for you both -- that friends and family will understand and won't take it personally.
i know we all want the very best for abigail, and as much as i personally can't wait to see her, i am perfectly content to wait until it is safe for her. :)

Megan sent your blog address for me. It's great to read your praises and know the prayer requests.
Yesterday at Bible study, Tanya [perhaps Clark] included the 3 of you on the large group prayer list. I provided the details I knew to my small group ladies and will send them the blog address. They will be continuing to pray for you regularly.

PS One of the ladies, Nancy Frank, may be calling Scott for electrical work.
How exciting that you got to hold Abigail for so long. We are praying for her immune system to progress to where it needs to be and that she is completely perfect. (Of course, we know that's a given.) Abigail comes first and I'd be happy to be in line to give her some lovin.
I'm already testing a plan. You stand in line, tap the person in front of you on the shoulder, and when they look around you step in front of them, he, he, he!
God Bless,
Love ya bunches,

Hi guys!
It is so good to hear how well abigail is doing. And that you got to hold her for for so long. I can't wait to see the new photos.
Love to you all
