Hello everyone!
It has been a good but rough couple of days. Grandma Maberry got to go with us to see and to hold Abigail this past Sunday. I think she really had fun. (both of them) Abigail has been having a rough time keeping her sats up. She fluctuates from 100% down to 50-ish% sometimes. They want her to stay between 82-100%. For those who may not know, her sats refer to her oxygen saturation in her blood. Her last blood labs indicated that her hemocrit/hemoglobin counts are down. That could be causing her to de-sat. They are going to do some checking on her blood and see if she is producing red blood cells or not. If she is producing the red blood cells but they are just immature then they do not want to give her another transfusion because this could cause her system to stop producing. If she is not producing then they will probably give her a transfusion. That will probably help with her habit of de-sating lately.
It is hard and frustrating to see her with new nurses who have no idea how Abigail is. Her nurse tonight was on a mission to try and ween her down to 21% oxygen and Abigail would sat high for a little bit and then come crashing down to about 60% real quick. Then the nurse would have to raise her oxygen and wait for her to recover and then she would try to ween her back down. Finally we had to tell her that Abigail likes to sit at about 25-28% oxygen and I think she caught on and left her between 30-32%. I think we got spoiled from her nurses before who are very quick and very smart and just have more experience in dealing with the babies. They really have a knack for reading the babies cues and letting them tell the nurses what they want instead of the nurses trying to tell Abigail what they want her to do. It has just been a rough couple of days for Abigail and therefore for us as well. Man, she is so beautiful. I can't wait for her to come home and someday running around the house trying to ride on Zepplin. He is the size of a small horse.
It's getting late and I have to work tomorrow. Thank you for your prayers and for your support. Please pray for her lungs and respiratory system and for her blood production.
Love
Scott, Cheryl and Abigail

Boy, you can definitely see that Abigail is growing. The pictures are wonderful, especially the one of Abigail and Grandma Mayberry. It is heartbreaking to read about some of the nurses. They don't realize that they have a beautiful angel in their presence. We will continue to pray for the nurses, Abigail's lungs and blood. Never forget that Abigail is a gift from God and God is constantly watching and taking care of her. We love you all.
I agree, she is definitely growing!
That is an awesome and blessed thing. Scott will have to have a saddle made for zepplin, just until Abigail can learn to hold onto a harness or ride Pawnee style. He should probably strap a bag of flour or sugar to him now, to get him used to bearing the weight,..Ha Ha.
Our love and our prayers go out to all of you. We love you vey much.
God Bless,
I can't believe how much she has grown! She is beautiful. I love the pictures of her sleeping. Sleeping babies are the BEST!!! She is at peace! God is doing amazing things both for her and through her! Keep growing, Abigail!
I was just thinking the same thing everyone else was as I looked at your pictures this evening...she is growing. We're praying for you! I'm praying that you will be moving to the graduate nursery soon.
