We had mentioned that they had attempted to feed Abigail with a bottle and it was going so so. Today Abigail turned 34 weeks (gestationally) and I had joked with Scott yesterday or the day before that she would catch on to bottle feeding today (the ability to bottle feed doesn't really kick in until 34 weeks). We went in this evening and Toni reported to us that she had taken her whole 6pm feed by bottle!! That was 35 mL. Wow, we were excited. We were there for her 9 o'clock feed and she didn't want to take that by bottle. They just look for her for cues and if she wants to they do, if she doesn't they don't. She kinda runs the show! She also gained an ounce and weighs 4 lbs 2 oz.
My aunt Bridget wrote a poem about Abigail and I want to share it with everybody!
ABIGAIL
“My Father’s Joy”
I chose your name a long time ago.
You are My Joy, and oh, I love you so!
My book of life your name is written.
Don’t be afraid, just look where you’re sitting.
I breathed on you when you were born.
I gave you the parents that I knew would adorn.
I sent you to Earth on Heaven’s Star.
I am right here – I am not far.
Even though you had a rough start.
Remember, I told you I would hold you close to my heart.
I gave you My Spirit and our eyes they did meet.
We will walk together -- your prints in my feet.
Your parents do know I put my spirit within.
You are going to be fine….You are born to win!
You shall grow stronger day by day.
“Glory to God” is the message they’ll say.
Because I picked You, my little chosen one.
Your Spirit will shine like the golden sun.
You are my angel that I sent from above.
You'll tell the world about my Word and my Love.
They will know I touched you yesterday and today.
For in the palm of my hand I hold you….
My Ms. Abigail Rae

Wow! Thank you Auntie Bridget:) You have a wonderful way with words. You summed everything up perfectly. Abigail, you are a miracle from God and His ways are perfect. I pray that you will grow to know Him, personally, as your Lord and Savior. I know that you have parents who will be raising you with Christ as their guide. Keep growing, Abigail!
Wow!!! What a way to start the day with a nice little cry. The words that Aunt Bridget wrote were absolutely beautiful, touching, and sooooooooooooooooooooo true. I am thrilled to hear that Abigail is doing well and getting bigger and stronger. Just think, she soon will be home, climbing on the dogs, and running mommy and daddy ragged. What a wonderful and glorious sight that will be. Praise the Lord. We love you all and we will always have you three in our thoughts and prayers. We love you.

I was in the doctor's office last March after two miscarriages and my doctor gave me a fertility medicine and said if I had twins we could blame him. I know I heard the voice of God at that moment. I don't know how to explain it, it has never been that clear to me before...but he told me we would not be using the fertility medicine and that He was going to get the glory for our baby. Now I would love to say I left the office and never doubted what I heard, but that isn't true, I did doubt what I heard. We put off taking the medicine until July, but I felt so uncomfortable with idea of even taking it, especially as July approproached. Abigail was conceived before July without the medicine. God's hand has been on Abigail long before I knew her. He does get all the glory for what he is doing in Abigail and us.
Very beautiful poem!We love you all, Nanna
