Abigail is not coming home Wednesday. She started to head-bob while breathing so we asked about that and they are changing her meds around because of the fluid retention and do not want to send her home until it is taken care of. They have tentatively told us that she would come home sometime after the weekend.
Love you all.

what is 'head bob'?

It's when they are having a more difficult time breathing and they kind of bob their head up and down.
Hello, just some more specifics. They are changing Abigail's diaretics around. She used to get diaril (?spelling) every 12 hours. Now they are alternating that with another diaretic and she is getting it every 6 hours. It is possible she just outgrew her dosage. They are chosing a different diaretic because it is potassium sparing whereas the diaril is not. Hopefully that will work and get rid of the excess fluid that builds up around her lungs (they did a chest x ray and her lungs looked hazy)and then she will be able to breath better and not so labored. I think this is something we are going to try to stay one step ahead of her because when she starts the head bob her lungs will sound clear but they really aren't and by the time they don't sound clear she is really having some difficulties. Hopefully, we are one step ahead of her so they don't have to use more aggressive diaretics!
Oh, my goodness, Abigail got hospital pictures done yesterday and they were ADORABLE!! They will send us a link to the web nursery in 2-3 days and we will post it as soon as we get it!
Of course the pictures were so adorable. Their Abigail!!! So glad you noticed the head-bob before you got Abigail home. It's just the Lord watching over her.
Amen
I echo Ms. Connie's sentiment. It is so good you noticed her head bobbing - I never would have noticed something like that! It will be so good to finally have her home. SOON! Very soon!
Love you Cheryl, Scott and Abigail!!!! Hugs and kisses coming your way!!!!
you need to get up some stuff now that she's home!
